The Lullaby Trust – Bereavement Support

How They Help:
Free specialist bereavement support for families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child. Includes a helpline, befriender scheme, practical guidance, emotional support and information on next steps after a sudden loss.

Who It’s For:
Parents, siblings, grandparents and wider family members who have experienced the sudden death of a baby or toddler, including SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).

Overview
The Lullaby Trust provides national, specialist support for families grieving the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child. Their helpline is staffed by trained advisers who can offer emotional support, explain post-mortem processes, and guide families through practical steps during an overwhelming time.
They also run a Befriender Programme, connecting newly bereaved families with trained volunteers who have experienced similar losses and can offer true peer-to-peer understanding.
The charity offers separate guidance and emotional support for siblings and other family members, as well as clear information designed to help families navigate investigations, coroner processes and other difficult procedures related to sudden infant death.
