Challenging Behaviour Foundation
How They Help: Positive Behaviour Support, advocacy, and resources for families
Who It’s For: Families of children with learning disabilities, including those with pica or behaviours that challenge
Overview
The Challenging Behaviour Foundation (CBF) provides specialist support for families of children with severe learning disabilities who display behaviours that challenge, such as pica. Their approach is based on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), helping families understand why behaviours occur and how to respond safely and effectively. Free toolkits offer practical guidance on risk reduction, environmental safety, communication, and collaboration with schools and health professionals. CBF also runs family carer workshops and peer networks for shared learning and emotional support.
